DeLonghi Dinamica Plus Cleaning
Maintaining a super automatic espresso machine is paramount. If you want the machine to last, you’ll need to take care of it. Still, when it comes to cleaning and descaling, DeLonghi has always made it easy on us.
Fortunately, keeping the Dinamica Plus in tiptop condition is a piece of cake. The water tank, milk container and brew group are all easy to remove, and can be rinsed under warm water. Oh, and make sure the brew group has dried fully before putting it back.
Automatic rinsing programs are also available for quick cleaning in between. Personally, I find these super convenient!
However, for the milk frother you mustn’t forget to turn the rotary switch from the CLEAN position back to the one for milk or milk foam after cleaning. Otherwise, rinsing water will end up in your cup. Let’s just say that happening once was enough for me!
DeLonghi advertises that you can clean the milk jug and drip tray in the dishwasher. This is probably true for some dishwashers, but definitely feel around inside these components after washing.
You want to be sure no film is building up that will be a pain to clean down the road … not to mention that it’s less than sanitary.
The guidance provided through the touchscreen display, DeLonghi Coffee Link app, Dinamica Plus user manual and a slew of online videos from the manufacturer make maintaining this machine a breeze.
Of course, you’ll need to regularly descale the Dinamica Plus, even if you have a water filter installed. I recommend using DeLonghi EcoDecalk Descaler. You can pick it up on Amazon for $12.99, which isn’t too bad.

Smart functionality
Still, part of the point of the automatic steam system is that you can use it remotely.
You can use the Dinamica Plus without worrying about its smart features but, if you want to make yourself a coffee from bed, you’ll need the De’Longhi Coffee Link app. It’s available for Apple and Android, and free to download and use.
In the app, you can check the machine’s status, adjust the settings, read the manual, create new personalised coffee drinks and – this is the key part – make yourself a latte, cappuccino or espresso remotely, with a single tap.
Of course, if you want a latte in bed in the morning, you’ll have to leave the machine on standby the night before, and leave the milk tank attached.
The tank can be kept in the fridge when you’re not using it but as it’s insulated, it should safely keep your milk cold enough overnight that you won’t be risking a cheesy cuppa in the morning.
But a connected coffee machine has its limitations. You can’t make lattes for two, for example (although you can make a pair of espressos) and you’ll still have to get up to retrieve your drink and bring it back to bed.
DeLonghi Dinamica Plus vs Other Super Automatics
At this point in my DeLonghi Dinamica review I’m still convinced this machine is a mid-range winner. Still, for the sake of completeness, let’s see how the Dinamica Plus measures up to a couple of other machines.
DeLonghi Dinamica Plus vs Dinamica
Available for $999.95, the DeLonghi Dinamica is now in the same price bracket as the Dinamica Plus.
Sure, these machines share a bunch of features, but I have to wonder why you would choose the Dinamica over the Dinamica Plus. That is unless you’re particularly averse to touchscreen displays or user profiles. Don’t get me wrong, the original Dinamica is a great automatic coffee maker. The Dinamica Plus is just better.

DeLonghi Dinamica Plus vs Magnifica Evo
The DeLonghi Magnifica Evo is one of the Italian manufacturers newest models, and costs a ridiculously reasonable $699.99.
I can see the Magnifica Evo appealing to those on a budget who still want an automatic coffee maker. While it’s nowhere near as powerful or versatile as the Dinamica Plus, the Magnifica Evo still has the 13-level conical burr grinder and adjustable drink settings. Heck, there’s even a new and improved LatteCrema system on board.

Key Similarities Between the Delonghi Dinamica vs Dinamica Plus
Pre-Infusing + Infusing: Elevating the Espresso Experience
One of the standout similarities between the Delonghi Dinamica and Dinamica Plus is their utilization of pre-infusing and infusing brewing systems.
This combination greatly contributes to the production of a richer flavor and aroma in the espresso.
Whether you prefer your coffee black or creamy, the pre-infusion and infusion process works wonders.
The result is a smoother, finer espresso with no bitter aftertaste. The Dinamica’s ability to deliver such exceptional quality challenges the notion that coffee only blooms with pour-over methods.
Built-In Burr Grinder: A Fresh and Customizable Grind
Both the Dinamica and Dinamica Plus feature built-in burr grinders, complete with bean hoppers.
The stainless steel blades ensure optimal performance without overheating during use.
With adjustable grind settings, these machines offer unparalleled customization, allowing you to fine-tune the strength and intensity of your coffee precisely to your liking.
Capacity: Practical and User-Friendly Design
When it comes to capacity, the Dinamica Plus and Dinamica share several similarities.
Both models boast a 60-ounce water reservoir, providing ample supply for brewing multiple cups without the need for frequent refills.
Additionally, they feature a used coffee grounds container capable of holding up to 14 pucks, streamlining the cleaning process.
The inclusion of a stainless steel cup holder and drip tray further enhances the user experience by ensuring ease of use and maintenance.
Moreover, these machines offer the option to use a water filter and program the water hardness level, allowing for long-term durability and safekeeping.
The Delonghi Dinamica and Dinamica Plus share key similarities that contribute to a remarkable coffee experience.
With both models incorporating pre-infusing and infusing systems, the resulting espresso is characterized by a richer flavor profile and enticing aroma.
The built-in burr grinders provide fresh and customizable grind options, while the practical capacity features make these machines user-friendly and convenient to operate.
Whether you choose the Dinamica or Dinamica Plus, you can expect exceptional coffee quality and a seamless brewing experience.
Should you buy the De’Longhi Dinamica Plus
While it is an expensive coffee machine, the De’Longhi Dinamica Plus has a brilliant design that makes it the perfect investment for coffee lovers. It has four profiles, which means it is brilliantly designed for families, and while it is not quite as compact as the Cuisinart Veloce Bean-to-Cup coffee machine, it is still a decent size to not take up the entirety of your kitchen counter.
My only slight complaint is that you can only make one milky coffee at a time with the De’Longhi Dinamica Plus, because the milk dispenser will pour into one cup only. You can easily do two milky coffees back-to-back, and realistically you will make your coffees one at a time anyway, but it is a slight difference when compared to the De’Longhi Maestosa.
If you want a smart coffee machine to smarten up the kitchen counters, the De’Longhi Dinamica Plus is an easy five-star option. It will do any coffee bean justice, and the milk dispenser makes perfect steamed milk. For a newer, slightly elevated machine, we also love the De’Longhi Rivelia Bean to Cup coffee machine, which earned five stars in our review.

Design
- 3.5-inch color touch display
- Automatic cleaning
- Integrated bean grinder
With the De’Longhi Dinamica Plus Automatic coffee machine, you can make coffees just like your local barista, with freshly ground beans and frothy milk, but without having to learn any skills. This stylish appliance comes in a titanium finish and looks like it means business. It’s not small though and depending on your kitchen size, it’ll take up a good chunk of space on your countertop. It measures 13.7 x 9.3 x 16.9 inches / 34.8 x 23.6 x 42.9cm (h x w x d) so while it’s not super wide, it is deep.
It’s a bean to cup machine so takes coffee beans which it grinds to order, the beans container has an 11.5oz/ 300g capacity, but you can also use ground coffee, which is great for people who prefer decaf, but ground coffee can only be added one scoop at a time as required. There’s also a removable 0.47-gallon / 1.8-liter water container that has to be filled manually.
The color touch display walks you through the setup and is very intuitive to use, displaying different beverages with clear images and there’s an accompanying app that allows further control. Drinks can be customized by the amount of coffee, amount and froth level of milk, aroma, and temperature. The grind level of the beans is also adjustable to ensure the perfect espresso. Drinks available include coffee shop favorites like cappuccino, latte, espresso, and flat white, but it can also pour a six-cup coffee pot or dispense just hot water for teas.
The thermal milk jug helps to keep your milk cold but can also be removed and popped in the fridge between uses. The coffee pouring spout height is adjustable and it can take a maximum cup height of 5.3 inches/ 13.5cm but has twin pouring spouts so can also be used to pour two espressos simultaneously. After every use, the machine automatically rinses everything through, so there’s minimal daily cleaning required.

How to Use the DeLonghi Dinamica Plus
Once you’re ready to start using your DeLonghi Dinamica Plus, plug it in, add water to the reservoir and fill the hopper with the best coffee beans you can get. If it’s your first rodeo you’ll need to flush the machine. Don’t worry though, the Dinamica Plus will guide you through the process.
When you’re ready to start making drinks, I’d recommend skipping the user manual and diving right in. Seriously, the user interface is so intuitive that preparing any beverage will quickly become second nature.
Feel free to experiment with different strength, volume and temperature settings until you’ve dialed in your espresso. Trust me, you aren’t going to break anything!
As for programming the user settings and using the Coffee Link app, the user manual will come in handy. That said, there really isn’t much to get to grips with.
My Observations
At the end of the day, the main thing any of us want from a super automatic espresso machine is to brew quality coffee and espresso based drinks with ease.
The DeLonghi Dinamica Plus has five strength levels presented as a bean scale. I adjusted the coffee strength up to level four and kept the grinder setting at almost the finest level.
DeLonghi automatic coffee machines generally use very little ground coffee for their standard beverage settings. I find they also use a bit too much water at times. So, I recommend you adjust the water level to match your desired potency.
The aroma of coffee from the Dinamica Plus was identical to what I experienced from the original DeLonghi Dinamica. In both machines, the chocolate notes are brought forward with an impressive sweetness that makes for a pretty authentic espresso experience.
However, this is less true for coffee. As I mentioned, you’ll notice too much water pretty quickly here. That’s why I’d always recommend making an americano rather than the preset long coffee. As for the pot function, I’d just ignore it altogether.
Finally, I found the preset coffee temperature to be spot on for my taste. That said, those of you with asbestos tongues can adjust the temperature upward!
Best Coffee for the DeLonghi Dinamica Plus
We have developed a coffee blend for all super automatic espresso machines, including the DeLonghi Dinamica Plus. We tested espresso, black coffee and latte macchiato, all of which displayed sweet chocolate notes with a pleasant freshness.
It all depends on the beans: if you put something good in at the top, something good will come out at the bottom!

DeLonghi Dinamica FAQs
What accessories come with the DeLonghi Dinamica Plus?
As you unbox the De’Longhi Dinamica Plus, you will find a power cord, a hot water spout, a coffee scoop, a descaler, a milk container, and a cleaning brush. There are also instruction manuals and the water hardness test indicator paper. Additionally, there’s a water filter that you plug into the water tank to ensure the water is properly filtered.
What are the terms of the warranty?
Every De’Longhi machine comes with a two-year warranty, extending by a year if you register the product. In other words, it offers ample peace of mind.
Where are the DeLonghi Dinamica espresso machines made?
The ECAM350.75SI and ECAM370.95TI are built in Italy. Meanwhile, the ECAM350.20 and ECAM350.25 are built in Romania.
Getting started with the De’Longhi Dinamica Plus
The De’Longhi Dinamica Plus came in a hefty box, but I was pleased to find that there was next-to-no assembly needed. The water tank and ground dispenser are both housed at the front of the machine for easy removable, and the bean grinder is at the rear of the machine, with a low enough profile to be easily topped up with beans.
The machine is fully automatic. You slot the milk dispenser onto the front left side of the De’Longhi Dinamica Plus, and if you don’t care for frothed milk, you can push a hot water dispenser into the front of the machine instead.
The milk dispenser has a LatteCrema system, which is designed to deliver robust and fine foam and frothed milk. This is fully adjustable using a dial at the top of the milk dispenser, with three levels of froth. When you choose your coffee setting you will be instructed to turn the dial to the right one for your coffee, and you can then switch it to the clean setting to rinse out the mixing device after you’re finished.
Performance
When you first set up the machine, you’ll need to clean and rinse it. It comes with a water softener filter, which you can add to the tank. If you live in a hard water area, you should definitely use it to extend the life of the appliance and stop it getting blocked up inside with limescale.
The machines rinses out each time it’s switched on and before it switches off. In order not to be caught out, I took to leaving a cup under the dispensing spout. Otherwise, you’ll find that the drip tray fills very quickly.
The touchscreen will give you a series of drink options: espresso; coffee (an Americano); cappuccino; latte macchiato; long; cappuccino + (a double); mixed cappuccino; doppio + (double espresso); caffe latte; hot milk; flat white; espresso macchiato; hot water; 2x espresso; plus, there’s a setting to fill a coffee pot.
The standard settings produce a very light, weak coffee (signified by a single bean), so you’ll probably want to experiment to get a drink that’s right for you. This is straightforward to do. Via the touchscreen, you can adjust the volume of water and the volume of coffee in each drink.
There’s also the option to adjust the temperature, set the water hardness level and switch the Eco-Mode on and off.
That all seems like quite a lot of options and faffing around but in day-to-day use, getting an espresso from the Dinamica Plus is about as easy as can be: switch on, press button, drink coffee.
And (once you’ve got the settings to your liking) it produces a very good espresso with a decent crema, every time, with no fuss at all. Home baristas will say this takes the fun out of coffee making at home, but then again, it also takes out all the work.
The Dinamica Plus is about as noisy as you’d expect, given the sounds of beans grinding and steam hissing. However, you can at least opt to switch off the operational beeps, if you prefer.
The machine will alert you when it’s time to empty the used grounds container but it’s definitely something to add to your to-do list if you going away. Otherwise, by the time you get home, you’ll have a drawer full of mouldy coffee to greet you.
